We have designed each of these concentrations to develop leaders who: are scholars; have outstanding personal qualities; are able to conduct original research and interpret and communicate the results of that research through their writing, 教学, and leadership; learn the art of effective collaboration; and who can, 并将, 把理论转化为实践. 除了顺利完成所有必修课程之外, 候选人必须完成一篇论文才能获得教育学博士学位. 论文必须是一个工作，反映了高水平的质量，并代表了原来的和显著贡献的学科.
